Clownfish
Clownfish are the friendliest first saltwater fish there is — and the ones most myths cling to. Buy captive-bred (hardier, no wild impact), and know they do NOT need an anemone to thrive. Keep one, or a single bonded pair of one species; they are territorial toward other clowns.
